Description

The Eagle Nebula is slowly dissappearing from the night sky until next season but I am determined to gather as much data as I can until next year.
This is only 2.5 hours of imaging time from last night before the clouds rolled in and spoilt the party!
The Eagle Nebula is about 6000 light years from us in the Serpens constellation and is located in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way.
The Pillars of Creation in the centre of this image was made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope and is one of the most iconic images of our time.
Hopefully I get to finish all three filters for this season to get a semi decent shot of this beautiful nebula.
